Interesting Cases:

Ian acted for the seller of a franchise business when the franchisor refused to release the proceeds of sale to our client, on the spurious basis that our client’s company owed debts to third parties and successfully recovered the outstanding money, plus interest and costs.
Ian acted for our client company who had purchased some assets from the administrator of a company and taken a fresh lease of premises previously occupied by that company, in defending a claim by a former employee of the company in administration that he had transferred to our client under TUPE – claim successfully resolved.
Ian acted for the purchaser of an expensive supercar which proved to be defective and achieved a successful settlement.

Ian successfully defended a client who had commissioned the construction of a luxury tree-house at a cost of over £10,000, against a claim by the liquidator of the company commissioned to build the tree-house, for monies which our client had withheld from paying due to significant defects in the structure.   This involved interesting arguments about the required standard for a tree-house of this nature, the liquidator’s argument being that it was perfectly normal for a tree-house to leak and be drafty, even if it costs more than £10,000 and the brochure clearly encouraged people to believe they should fill the tree-house with high-end audio-video equipment..

Ian acted for several dentists in claims against the principal dentist for unpaid monies for UDAs carried out.
Ian recently settled a claim by our client against her former solicitor, in respect of monies which he claimed to invest on her behalf, but failed to pay the agreed sums in interest or return the monies provided to him.

Personal Mission Statement:

My aim is to help businesses and individuals resolve their legal disputes to their satisfaction and as cost-effectively as possible.
