Our Private Client Department offers a comprehensive range of services and expert advice to our older clients, or clients who are living in residential care homes or nursing homes.
Community Care Advice – Where our clients are living in or planning to live in residential homes. This includes advice on funding and NHS continuing care.
Applications for Deputyship – These are applications to the court of protection for directions for the management of property and affairs or the immediate and future welfare of clients who lack capacity to give instructions for themselves.
Registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPAs) – Made before 1st October 2007 and which now require registration with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).
Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) – These are given by clients in respect of property and affairs or welfare while they have capacity to give instructions. We can advise on LPAs and whether they are appropriate to your circumstances, prepare and arrange for their signature and subsequent registration with the OPG.
Day to day management of the affairs of the elderly client under EPAs or LPAs, or under Deputyship Orders
Advice on Advance Directives or Living Wills – Setting out your wishes about your medical treatment if you are unable to make your own decisions.
